SYDNEY, Australia -- 11 August 2004 -- AUUG, the organisation for UNIX and Open Source professionals, today announced that it's upcoming annual national conference has attracted record registrations and sponsorship to date. Compared to the 2003 conference (to date): * Registrations are up by 18% * Sponsorship has jumped a massive 36% "The AUUG board is delighted with the strong interest in AUUG2004", said Gordon Hubbard, AUUG Inc. The conference, now in its third decade, is a key resource and meeting place for users, developers and vendors wanting to make the most of their investments in Unix, Linux and Open Source Systems. The 3 day conference programme is preceded by a 3 day tutorial programme. There is a focus on security topics, but many other areas of interest are covered: Open Source databases, kernel hacking, Java and Wireless networks, to name a few.
