A "Must See" conference for anyone using Unix, Linux or Open Source Systems. SYDNEY, Australia -- 29 July, 2004 -- AUUG, the organisation for UNIX and Open Source professionals, today announced its annual national conference for UNIX, Linux, BSD and Open Source end users, corporations, government agencies, developers and vendors. The conference will focus on identity and authentication on the Internet but also address a wide range of topics from Linux to Java, Open Source databases, Spam laws, Thin Clients, Australia's fastest computer, firewalls, viruses and general computer security. The conference, now in its third decade, is a key resource and meeting place for users, developers and vendors wanting to make the most of their investments in Unix, Linux and Open Source Systems. The 3 day conference programme is preceded by a 3 day tutorial programme -- the most extensive tutorial programme that an AUUG conference has boasted for many years. There is a focus on security topics, but many other areas of interest are covered: Open Source databases, kernel hacking, Java and Wireless networks, to name a few. Apple Computer will be sponsoring a FREE tutorial - "Building Flexible and Secure Internet Services Using Mac OS X". Although focused on providing strong technical content, the conference also addresses business topics and provides excellent opportunities for attendees to meet and build friendships via the conference reception and dinner.
