The second Australian Open Computing in Government Conference (OCG) will be held in Canberra on Monday April 18th and Tuesday April 19th 2005. Registration is now open. A great range of speakers from government, industry and the wider community will provide unparalleled insight into the state of open source software, open computing, open formats, and the future of IT in government. This year's event will be held at the Manning Clark Centre at The Australian National University, Canberra. Conference News 6 April 2005 Dr Elizabeth Gordon-Werner, Manager Strategic Projects, Government Chief Information Office, with the NSW Department of Commerce, will present at OCG2005, with a keynote on changing the mindset of government procurement in an open source world. 1 April 2005

31 January 2005. Call for Papers closes shortly. We've already received many excellent submissions, and will be announcing the complete program shortly. You can still submit a proposal for consideration - see the Call for Papers details OCG is an annual conference, run by AUUG, to foster debate and communication around all aspects of open computing within all forms of government. Titled "Future-proofing Government Computing: Open Data, Formats and Standards" this year's conference will focus on the heightened awareness and presence of Open Source Computing in Government throughout Australia and the world. Highlights will include evolving best practices, new case studies and shared experiences amongst Policy Makers, IT officials and industry servicing the government sphere. Participants will come from all levels of Government and public bodies, academia, and local, national and international organizations. |
